Yigo Guam Temple

Yigo Guam Temple

The Yigo Guam Temple is an announced temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) under 

construction in Yigo, Guam. On February 24, 2019, the Yigo chapel was permanently closed for demolition. The site will be prepared for construction of the Yigo Guam Temple and a new meetinghouse located behind the temple.

The intent to construct the temple was announced by church president Russell M. Nelson on October 7, 2018.

The Yigo Guam Temple was announced concurrently with 11 other temples. 

At the time, the number of the church’s total number of operating or announced temples was 201 with this announcement.

On May 4, 2019, a groundbreaking to signify beginning of construction was held, with Yoon Hwan Choi, who was then president of the church’s Asia North Area, presiding.

Completion:  Estimated in mid- to late 2021 (no official dates announced yet)

Construction Status:  Front stairs and landscape structures installed; front doors in place; window installation progressing
